MFH Future Uses of Evaluation
- Logic Model - The logic model (example #1,
#2)
is a tool to help our applicants/grantees during their project
planning and evaluation process. For the year 2006, it will be
available as a planning tool. The Foundation will incorporate
training of the Logic Model development into grant writing and
grantee orientation activities.
The Foundation wishes to receive feedback on the ease of use of
the logic model before mandatory implementation would be in effect.
Please click here
to provide feedback.
Please note that in the future, the Foundation anticipates using
the logic model as a mandatory tool for use in the full
proposal phase and during the interim/final reporting period.
- Foundation-Defined Initiatives- For Foundation
Defined Initiatives, the Foundation requires that applicants have
a plan for internal evaluation and also agree to work with an
external evaluator.
- Cluster Evaluation- Based on similarly themed
projects (with common strategies, common population, common outcomes,
etc), the Foundation will use this mechanism in the future to
determine how well grantees achieve broad goals of a funding program.
- MFH Effectiveness in Meeting Community Needs
and Addressing Health Issues- Periodically, the Foundation
will survey its applicants and grantees in order to determine
effectiveness of grantmaking and meeting community needs. Surveys
are currently under development.
- Other Resources- The Foundation strives
to provide useful and timely information to both applicants and
grantees in order to assist them in implementing best practice
programs as well as evaluating their agency. You can view resources
by clicking here.
Another great source of information is the Foundation's Health
Resource Directory.
