Basic Support Program:
addresses ongoing costs that are central to achievement of
an organization's mission. These funds can be used to maintain
existing services or strengthen organizational infrastructure
by providing salaries for key staff or covering operational
expenses such as occupancy, utilities, equipment, etc.

Foundation Defined Initiatives:
include Healthy
& Active Communities, which targets community-based
organizations helping people at risk of developing obesity.
Expanding Primary
Care Access in Non-Urban Settings helps to strengthen
the healthcare safety net and improve access to care in rural
areas. Tobacco Prevention
and Cessation Initiative, a nine-year, multi-phase program
includes grantmaking, policy, capacity building, evaluation
and communication activities.
Other Funding Areas:
include Oral Health,
which supports the development of dental sealant application
and preventive dental education for children in the MFH service
area. Health Literacy
focuses on improving the health literacy of Missouri's population
to encourage better health decisions and behaviors. Mental
Health & Substance Abuse funds youth-based mental
health and/or substance abuse prevention and/or treatment
programs, as well as assessment or program planning that address
prevention and/or treatment needs of all age groups with mental
health and/or substance abuse disorders. Chronic
Care funding supports the implementation of the Chronic
Care Model to improve the health outcomes of people living
with chronic disease(s). The Women's
Health program addresses the health behavior, prevention,
and treatment needs of women.
