Description: The NGA Center for Best
Practices provides research and analysis for states on emerging
issues and state models. Coordinated school health involves
a set of interrelated components that work together to improve

Description: DASH was established in

Description: Located within the U.S.
Department of Education and the Institute of Education Sciences,
the NCES collects and analyzes data that are related to education
in the U.S. and other nations.

Description: A School Health Advisory

Coalition. This Coalition works to organize and provide technical

of Missouri.

members, operations and conducting meetings. Also includes
tools and examples of coordinated school health programs and
topics.

Description: ASHA unites the many professionals
working in schools who are committed to safeguarding the health
of school-aged children. ASHA is a multidisciplinary organization
of administrators, counselors, dentists, health educators,
physical educators, school nurses and school physicians which
advocates for high-quality school health instruction, health
services and a healthful school environment.

Description: A nonpartisan policy and
resource center that supports the development of state and
community partnerships to establish comprehensive school-based
health centers.

resource guide, dental and mental health services at schools,
fact sheets and links to other resources.
The National Assembly on School-Based Health Care (NASBHC)

Description: NASBHC represents school-based
health care providers and supporters. The organization promotes
accessible, quality school-based primary and mental health
care for children and youth through interdisciplinary and
collaborative efforts.

Federal Appropriation, center for technical assistance and
training, a center for evaluation and quality of school-based

National Association of State Boards of Education (NASBE)

Description: NASBE aims to help policymakers

UCLA School Mental Health Project,
Center for Mental Health in Schools

Description: This Center, one of two
national training and technical assistance centers, focuses
on mental health in schools. Its mission is to improve outcomes
for young people by enhancing policies, programs and practices
relevant to mental health in schools. The center aims to advance
efforts to plan, implement, and evaluate school-based programs;
analyze and discuss current programs and needs; develop new
models for school-based interventions; and demonstrate the
value of school-university collaboration to develop and evaluate
interventions.
