Friends:

The Missouri Foundation for Health (MFH) and the Nonprofit Services Consortium (NSC) have entered into an exciting partnership to provide training and consultation services to nonprofit health organizations across the Foundation's service region - and called the MFH Capacity Building Initiative.

NSC is an established organization with a decade of experience in providing technical assistance and organizational development services to nonprofit organizations in Missouri. Now through MFH's relationship with NSC, Missouri nonprofits can take advantage of the broader range of programs and services that have been developed to support enhanced organizational performance.

Under our partnership arrangement, NSC is offering nonprofit health organizations several different services, some of which have been offered directly by MFH in the past. The Capacity Building Initiative's expanded menu of services includes:

  • Workshops - Sessions on key topics related to effective organizational performance (grant writing, fund development, board governance, and human resources).
  • Capacity Building Consultation program (formerly MFH's Strategic Organizational Development) - Consultative services directed at specific planning and management issues within an organization.
  • Women's Leadership Development program - Continuation of the very successful Women Executive Directors in Underserved Communities (WEDUC) program launched in 2006 by MFH, as well as additional leadership activities, and
  • Supportive communications and assessment services.

Through its partnership with NSC, MFH is expanding its commitment to strengthen the health nonprofit infrastructure in our service region. Creating stronger organizations can have a lasting effect on the quality of programs offered to Missourians in need.

We invite you to make full use of all segments of the Capacity Building Initiative, and to visit the NSC website for more information on the program (links are provided below).
