Joan Bray

St. Louis, Missouri, Term: 2017–2019

Joan Bray is a retired state legislator, having been term limited in 2010 after serving eight years in the Missouri Senate and 10 years in the Missouri House. While in office, she focused on the state budget, public transportation, health care, and social justice issues. After leaving the legislature Joan continued advocating for her passions through nonprofit boards, such as the Midwest Interstate Passenger Rail Commission, the National Consumers League, and Planned Parenthood of the St. Louis Region and Southwest Missouri. She also served three years as the executive director of Consumers Council of Missouri. Before becoming a legislator Joan was a reporter and editor at the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
