While most Missourians (59%) report feeling comfortable financially, only one quarter said they were managing to save. This financial vulnerability is especially pronounced among people of color, those with disabilities, and those with household incomes below $50,000. Nevertheless, Missourians were more positive about their own financial situations than that of the state as a whole.
Few (18%) believe there are not enough jobs for people who want them. But two-thirds (66%) believe not having enough good jobs is a challenge.
One-third of Missourians say they are worse off than they were a year ago.
Nearly 10% of Missourians have faced eviction in the past year. Renters, independents who are female or under 50, those living in the city of St. Louis, and Black people were most likely to report facing eviction.
