Stories have the unique ability to foster empathy, bridge divides, and create meaningful connections. This summer, we wanted to tap into the art of storytelling to prompt reflective discussions among our staff and partners.
To mark the 10th anniversary of the Ferguson Uprising, which was ignited in response to the killing of Michael Brown, Jr., we launched the “10 Years Later: Reflections from the Ferguson Uprising” series. We aimed to humanize our organization and the people behind the scenes, while uplifting the wide range of perspectives at MFH. Through blog posts, poems, and video, our staff shared their thoughts in creative ways.
By spotlighting the real experiences of our team members, our partners can hear directly from staff and gain a deeper understanding of what motivates us in our mission of achieving health equity. As we continue on this path, we remain committed to showcasing the diverse voices that drive our work toward a healthier Missouri.
We invite you to listen to our staff’s reflections and encourage you to hold similar conversations with your co-workers, friends, and neighbors. Together, we can continue to explore what it means for all Missourians to have a fair and just opportunity to live their healthiest lives.
