MFH regularly looks for ways to listen to and learn from communities across the state. Through this poll, we aim to better understand priorities and attitudes of Missourians on a range of important issues that affect their health and their communities.
Residential street addresses across Missouri were randomly sampled, and then matched for available contact information (landline and wireless phones, as well as email addresses) from a variety of public and private databases. Potential respondents were then contacted by phone calls, text messages, and emails to invite their participation in the survey. 1,670 interviews were conducted in counties served by Missouri Foundation for Health, and another 213 in the remainder of the state. Data were statistically weighted to reflect the true geographic distribution of Missouri’s adult residents. Feedback was also gathered from Missourians through pre-poll focus groups and via QualBoard, an online software platform designed to help conduct research to understand people’s opinions, experiences, and motivations.
The poll was conducted with adult residents across the entire state of Missouri.
Speak Up MO was a dual-mode resident survey conducted from June 16 - July 1, 2025.
In 2025 Speak Up MO partnered with Provoc to involve community members in a series of data walks to socialize the preliminary data and explore how nonprofit partners might want to receive and use the data. With their help, we developed the strategy for portraying the results of the poll on the site! In 2026, we have more community engagement planned. Please email info@speakupmo.org to get involved!
