Medicaid Coverage
Helping Missourians get – and stay – covered.

About the initiative
Medicaid is a key piece of the safety net in Missouri. The program, known in the state as MO HealthNet, allows Missourians with lower incomes to see a doctor when they are sick, get check-ups, buy medications, and go to the hospital.
Why it matters
Having health insurance helps Missourians maintain their health, go to work, and take care of their families. Awareness, outreach, and education are essential to help people get and stay covered.
How we’re changing things
Medicaid expansion marked an important milestone for Missouri, but implementation was only the beginning. Since expansion took effect, we have worked alongside partners across the state to educate Missourians, support enrollment and renewal efforts, and address barriers to accessing care. As new federal policy changes emerge, we continue to provide trusted information, resources, and community partnerships that help Missourians make informed decisions about their health coverage and care.
Today, our efforts include supporting a statewide network of enrollment assistors, launching research-driven education and awareness campaigns, and more. We believe every person deserves to move through life with dignity. When someone needs help to be healthier, it should be available regardless of their background, where they live, or who they love.
